Vegan Doughnuts with Almond Butter Glaze

Donuts taste much better when you make them yourself! Try these classic vegan donuts made with our Twisted Nut Almond Butter!

Servings: 6 pieces

Ingredients

  • For the doughnuts

    • 125g flour

    • 75g sugar

    • 75ml coconut oil

    • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract

    • Pinch of salt

    • 1/2 tsp baking soda

    • 1/2 tbsp apple cider vinegar

    • 100g apple sauce

    • 100ml soy milk

  • For the Glaze 

    • 2 tbsp Twisted Nut Crunchy Almond Butter

    • 3 tbsp icing sugar

    • 1-2 tbsp soy milk

    • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven at 180℃. Grease the doughnut tray with a bit of coconut oil to prevent sticking and set aside.

  2. Mix all the dry ingredients in a bowl. In a separate box mix all the wet ingredients. Then combine and mix with a hand mixer (don't over mix).

  3. Pour the batter in the pan, about 2 tbsp per doughnut (make sure you don't fill the holes to the top as they will rise in the oven).

  4. Bake for about 15-18 minutes, depending on your oven. Test that it's baked all the way through with a toothpick before removing from the oven and setting aside to cool.

  5. Prepare the icing by mixing the ingredients together. Start off by adding 1 tbsp of milk, add another if you see the icing is too thick.

  6. Once the doughnuts have cooled completely, top with the glaze and some chopped almond pieces. Enjoy!
